card combinations in poker

At showdown the poker players open their cards and see who has the strongest hand. That player wins the round and takes all the pot. Let’s look at how a combination of cards can be put together at all, which is also known as a poker hand. And so, a hand is called a five-card hand. Each participant has two cards. To put together a hand of five, he can use three cards from the table plus two of his own, or four cards from the table plus one of his own, or all of the table’s cards. In either case, it must be exactly five.

There are a wide variety of poker combinations that can be used to build up a hand. For example, five cards of the diamond suit is called a flush. Below we will look at the different combinations in poker.

1. The flush royal

This is one of the best combinations in poker. It consists of five cards of the same suit, including a ten through ace of diamonds.

2. Straight Flush

A straight flush is the next best combination in poker, following the Royal. It consists of single-handed cards, arranged in ascending order. For example: six, eight, seven, nine, ten. If more than one opponent has such a hand, the one with the higher cards in his hand wins.

3. Four of a Kind

A Poker Hand consists of four cards of the same rank, e.g. four queens. Accordingly, if a pair of players have a square, the contestant with the higher cards wins.

If two players have the same quad, the outcome is determined by which card is fifth. Whoever has the higher one wins.

4. Full house

A full house consists of a pair and a triplet. In case a pair of players have a Full House, the winner of the game is determined by the triplet, but if it is also the same, then the pair is determined by the pair.

5. Flush

A combination of five cards of the same suit is referred to as a flush. When a Flush is dealt by a pair of players, the highest ranked card is deemed to be the highest flush.

6. Straight

Five cards of any suit form a straight when played in a row. If a pair of opponents have a straight, the winner is determined by the highest straight card.

7. Triplets (sets or triplets)

A triplet, like a square, is comprised of 3 cards of the same rank.

8. Two Pairs

Two pairs are made up of, (pay attention, intrigue…) two pairs. If a pair of contestants have two pairs of cards then to determine the winner the highest pair is compared first, then the lowest pair. If they are identical, the fifth card, the kicker, becomes decisive.

9. Pair

This combination, of course, consists of two cards of the same face value. Three other cards are added to this pair. If two people have an identical pair, the additional cards – kickers – are compared, starting with the highest card.

10. Senior Card

If the hand has no Pair, then only the highest card counts. The one with the higher cards takes the pot.
